In patients with a rapid progression of the disease or in which treatments are not effective, the Veterinarian can propose a renal biopsy in order to collect a small tissue sample to be analyzed histologically. Usually, kidney biopsy is performed in day hospital and under ultrasonographic guidance (no need of abdominal surgery).
